The Oconocon & Free Comic Book Day 2008
I am northward bound.
Wisconsin.
Oconomowoc, to be precise.
On Saturday, May 3rd, I’ll be at Kowabunga Comics (noon until question mark), hanging out and signing some books for Free Comic Book Day.
Then, come Sunday, I’ll have a table at the inaugural Oconocon (I do love that name), held at the Olympia Resort and Conference Center from 10am-4pm, selling books, doing sketches, and all of the usual convention-type stuff.
So, if you’re in the Oconomowoc area (smack-dab in between Madison and Milwaukee), swing by, have fun, and keep me company.
More soon,
-chris.

Jakob and Heddor fall back to Sultan Ameer’s caravan for a desparate last stand, while Skot confronts the Lord Founder and Dexus!
(order code is JAN083823)
WASTELAND is, as always, written by Antony Johnston, covered by Ben Templesmith, published by Oni Press, and illustrated by yours truly.

COMIC BOOK TATTOO - The Beekeeper
While there have been bits and pieces floating around for a while now (including an earlier post from me below), the press-push has begun in earnest and it’s now (for lack of a better phrase) officially official:
COMIC BOOK TATTOO, an illustrated anthology based on the songs of Tori Amos, will be released this summer by Image Comics.
The book clocks-in at nearly 500 pages and boasts around 90 artists and writers. I am (excitedly and proudly and nervously) one of them.
Writer Neil Kleid and I take on THE BEEKEEPER, one of my favorite songs in the Amos stable and, actually, when asked which songs we’d possibly like to adapt, my first choice (so, THAT was pretty slick).
To see the Comic Book Resources article, not to mention a few samples of art, more of the creators involved, and an interview with editor and chief mastermind, Rantz Hoseley (who does a substantially better job at encapsulating the project than I ever could), click here.
More details to come…
